  Election Results

KSHA is pleased to announce the 2015 successful candidate for the position of Secretary-Elect:

Karen Coulter, PhD, will bring with her a background rich in diverse work experiences.  After working in the school system and an outpatient rehabilitation center, she joined the University of Louisville's Pediatrics Department as well as their Autism Center.  Dr. Coulter completed her PhD with the University of Louisville and chose to pursue a specialization in assistive technology, specifically augmentative and alternative communication (AAC).  During this period of time, she became the full-time advocate and guardian for an individual on the autism spectrum, and she has come to understand both sides of the proverbial consumer/provider coin.  At the University of Louisville, Dr. Coulter had many rich opportunities within her multi-disciplinary workplace, such as participating in the feeding clinic, Fragile X clinic and developing her own AAC Clinic.  Dr. Coulter is now a part of the Murray State University faculty and enjoys both expanding and sharing her expertise not only in autism and AAC but also in diagnostics, language development and behavioral feeding disorders.  Western Kentucky is now Dr. Coulter's home, and she is enjoying being part of Murray State University's Center for Communication Disorders family

Term:  August 1, 2015 - July 31, 2016

We are so proud of her!  Thanks for your service to the state, region, University and of course all the work you do for the Center for Communication Disorders!
