Career Services Spring 2015

Murray State University Career Services is excited to announce this semester’s career events. Last semester over 100 employers and organizations came to campus to connect with Murray State University students and alumni to discuss job, internship and advanced degree opportunities. Career Services hopes that students from all majors will take advantage of the following training and networking events.

Jan 27 - 29 | Curris Center Barkley Rm
All May 2015 graduates are invited to attend one 45 min Senior Meeting. These sessions cover important graduation prep deadlines and dates, up-to-date job search strategies and graduate school application tips and resources. Participants will also learn about available free job search resources. All sessions will be held in the Curris Center Barkley Room and are available during the following times:

Tue, Jan 27 | 4:00 PM & 5:00 PM
Wed, Jan 28 | 10:00 AM & 11:00 AM
Thu, Jan 29 | 12:00 (noon) & 1:00 PM

Contributing Campus Offices: Alumni Association, Bookstore, Career Services, Financial Aid and Graduate School.

All Majors Career Fair

Regional and national employers and graduate programs are registered to attend the spring Career Fair from 10:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. on the third floor of the Curris Center. Organizations are recruiting undergraduate and graduate students from all academic disciplines.

Job Search Workshop Series

Feb 17 - 19 | 100 Oakley Applied Science
Participants will prepare for and increase their competitive edge in the job search by attending. Each training session is offered twice and cover the following topics:
  • resume & cover letter writing
  • interview strategies
  • business and meal etiquette
  • job search resources & strategies
  • networking & personal branding
  • salary negotiations
  • how to work a career fair
There will also be a resume editing workshop in a computer lab and an opportunity to have a professional photo headshot taken for free. Drop-in events are on a first-come, first serve basis.
